Turning Points
1960 - the Sharpeville massacre of 63 black South Africans, this cruel incident motivate him to change the way of fighting.
1962 - Mandela had been arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment in the notorious Robben Island Prison. However, he made use of his time in this prison. He helped to keep other Men's spirits high and never compromised his political principles when offered early release.
1990 - He had been released from Robben Island Prison
Achievements
1993 - Awarded Nobel Prize
1952 -Mandela was able to graduate and obtain his degree, and qualified as a Lawyer. He and Tambo opened the first Black Law firm in South Africa
1999 - Mandela again got prestigious awards. In the same year, He was inaugurated as the first democratically elected State President of South Africa on and was President until June 1999

The timeline of Fred Hollows
1929 - born in New Zealand
1960 - got the first job in Australia
1965 - became the head of the Eye Department of Sydney Hospital
1970 - launched a national program to attack eye disease in Aboriginal Australians
Between
1970 &1973 - travelling all over outback Australia, he had treated 30,000 people for eye diseases
1980 - Fred was travelling all over the world to set up eye health programs in developing countries
1989 - diagnosed with cancer
1993 - died at home
